Diversified Data Systems (DDS) has been contracted to develop a web based training system that would allow health care professionals across the Commonwealth to continue their education and receive certification from the privacy of their own workstation. Training modules are created using Asp.net software. Prototype screens are developed, tested by the user and finalized by DDS. The system consists of nine modules covering all aspects of genetics education.

After the course is completed, an examination is required that validates the comprehension level of the health care professional. If the examination is successfully completed and the scoring adequate, a continuing education credit (CEU) is issued. The system is being deployed across the Commonwealth as modules are completed.

The Commonwealth and DDS are being acknowledged for a system that will produce time and cost savings. Health care professionals also appreciate the opportunity to further their education without having to attend formal training.
